Tell me the world is evil
Tell me the government’s corrupt
Tell me you can do better,
Lure me into your trap
Put the rifle into my hands
Send me after the tank
Please sleep comfortably in your bed
Let my body rot in the sand
Tell me the country is in good hands
Now you’re on the throne
Unleash starvation and the evil of man
To fulfill a fantasy that’s all your own
Tell me it’s no more a dynasty
and the people now have a say
build huge projects against our wills
with our tax money we shall pay
pass on the state owned property
to your relatives and your friends
do not worry about my children
They are happy in their manufacturing plants
Please give in to your avarice
to your greed that knows no bounds
for now you realize the “old society”
It wasn’t as bad as it sounds
you can do business over the dinner table
to the sounds of dance and show
enjoy the cigars and the liquor
and let the money flow
Give in to your desire
Those things called the opposite sex
Those lips and hips are yours
For "love" and a lot of cash
Go on to play the stock market
The knowledge is in your hands
Although it’s your job to supervise
Only a fool would pass that chance
Put your children on a plane
With the money that you “earned”
Buy a house and a lot of expensive cars
And go to the best schools to learn
The water is now stinking
But that doesn't concern your selves
But what about the air?
Don’t you have to breath it as well?
The old peasant woman wants to die
So that she’ll not be a burden
The factory worker eats in the dust
So that he won’t lose his pension
the intellectuals are watching
but what more could they do?
It’s wiser to join the Klondike for gold
Than to feel helpless like a fool
And suddenly it hits me
A sort of déjà vous
Are we back in the old days?
Frozen feet and chocolate mousse?
Along came the student leaders,
But already I know their game
Are you really revolutionaries?
Or just opportunists for personal gains?
They are the intellectual elites,
The ones “destined to lead”
The crowd is excited by their rhetoric
And bow down to their knees
O all the fair children
Hijacked onto the square
For what end-goal and purpose?
Is it even clear?
And what of all these leaders?
So passionate, selfless and moral
Did they shed their blood like the others
To fight for a better tomorrow?
They did not and they will not
And they said it loud and clear:
My life is all so precious,
I will continue to fight elsewhere
The truth turns out to be ugly
they had their plan B made
Greencards,visas and escape routes
To take them far far away
What is left for the mother?
On the square whose child lay
The boy didn’t know the “game”
He didn'tknow what consequences were to pay
In the face of all this deception
And the corruption and hardships everyday,
What of this burning rage in my heart?
Against such a world, what shall I say?
Let all the so-called leaders know
You will never lead me astray
Give me not a revolution
So that I’ll be kept a slave
And to all the slaves I shall say:
It is your DUTY to be free
Only you can shatter the fetters,
Only you can walk out of the maze
Do not let them blind you,
And keep you ignorant and weak
Education is the key
To justice, equality and will give you a voice to speak
Believe not the “leader”,
Who’s behind the podium to preach,
He is no better than you,
He is no one to teach!
All men are created equal,
Our mind the most precious thing,
Cultivate and make full use of it
And see what a wonderful world it will bring
